Vermont Business Magazine Alyssa Bourque, a sophomore on the University of Vermont track and field team, announced today that she has signed a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) contract with SEAAV Athletics. She becomes the company’s brand ambassador and model for Bourque. She recently participated in a photo and video shoot representing the brand. As part of her contract, she will pay a commission on her clothing sales.
Bourque, a 19-year-old from Benton, Maine, partnered with Pliable Marketing, a company that helps high school, college, and professional athletes build brands, to partner with SEAAV. Bourque has joined Norwich University hockey player Rylie McIntyre as her Pliable client in Vermont.
Earlier this year, Bourque signed with Pliable Marketing to represent NIL. She worked directly with Pliable founder and CEO Greg Glynn and her SEAAV Athletics founder and CEO Mckenna Haz to create her NIL contract.
“We are proud to partner with SEAAV Athletics because of the brand’s commitment to the environment. Clothing is really comfortable, so it feels good to wear it and support the company’s mission to protect the planet. Meaning I wanted to find a way to use my name, image, and likeness in a positive way, and this was a great opportunity,” said Burke, a javelin thrower at the University of Vermont. .
SEAAV clothing is made from recycled materials, including PET bottles. All SEAAV garments are made from recycled polyester, reducing emissions by 75%, water usage by 90% and energy usage by 50%.
As part of the NIL deal, the company created a customized promotional code “ALYSSA15”. This code can be used to save 15% on your orders at SEAAVAthletics.com. Bourque then uses the promo code to earn a commission on every sale.
In June 2021, a unanimous Supreme Court ruling upheld a lower court’s ruling that the NCAA’s restrictions on “education-related interests” of college players violated antitrust law. As a result, college athletes have the opportunity to profit from their name, image and likeness.
Earlier this summer, Bourque teamed up with her sister Kaylyn to create a public service announcement for the Waterville Humane Society. The two sisters made her $5,000 in-kind donation using names, images and likenesses to support the organization and show their love for animals.
In June, the two sisters threw the first pitch at a Portland Sea Dogs game celebrating Title IX’s 50th anniversary. The Bourque sisters have been pioneers in increasing the popularity of women’s sports in Maine, and she was one of the first athletes to secure name, image and likeness opportunities in the state.
“Alyssa’s passion for the environment made this a great NIL partnership opportunity for her. As a track and field athlete, she is always looking for comfortable sportswear, so this was perfect for her. can save and save the planet.People pay for SEAAV Athletics quality clothing,” said Greg Glynn, Founder and CEO of Pliable.
