With this funding, Hunger Free Vermont (HFVT) will be able to help more children in Vermont have access to healthy foods. HFVT enables schools and daycares to increase average daily participation in federal school, childcare, after-school, and summer meal programs and to provide staff members with information about her SNAP and WIC to the families they serve. We provide training and support for HFVT partner agencies that serve seniors in Vermont can also be trained on the benefits of participating in SNAP and prepared to help clients apply. This investment will provide strong leadership and engagement at the state and federal levels to advocate for policies that support and grow a strong and stable federal diet program for everyone living in Vermont. The goal of Star Market’s Foundation Naurishing Neighbors program is to ensure adequate food for those living in the communities Shaw’s serves.
